david mackintosh author visit

Events and author visits…

I visit schools, bookshops, festivals and art colleges to talk about my work. My books are published as children’s books, but I see them as picture books for anyone, so the audience for my talks can be young or old.

Events can be:
reading & drawing (for younger ones), or simple workshops (talking about how to make a book, how I develop an idea, where the inspiration comes from), or full day workshops (developing an idea and looking at visual narrative, with one-on-one consultation on student's work). An event for an adult audience could include advice on how to get your story published and an insight into the publishing process.

I also mow lawns.

If you'd like to talk about booking me to speak at your school or at an event, drop me a line or two.

Some reviews of my books can be read here.

A 2017 interview about how I work and a bit of history by Dr Robyn Sheahan-Bright can be read here.

Here's a 'how-to' draw a straight line on The Guardian website.
